KUCC provides coaching and tuition for all players and provides a fun atmosphere for kids to get out and enjoy playing cricket.

KUCC Junior Programs and Competitions
Kerrimuir United Cricket Club has junior programs and competition teams affiliated with BHRDCA, RDCA and ECA.
Our junior programs cater for boys and girls of all ages and abilities and include the following:
- Woolworths Cricket Blast – Junior Blasters – Friday evening
- Woolworths Cricket Blast – Master Blasters – Wednesday evening
- Stage 1 Girls – Wednesday evening
- Stage 1 – 7 a side (Super 7s) – Sunday morning
- Stage 2 – 9 a side (Fast 9s) – Sunday morning
- U12 – Friday twilight and/or Saturday morning
- U14 – Friday twilight and/or Saturday morning
- U16 – Friday twilight and/or Saturday morning




Woolworths Junior Blasters

At an introductory level we provide an opportunity for young juniors to develop their skills with our Woolworths Cricket Blast Program which takes place on a Friday evening at Springfield Park from 6.00pm – 7.00pm. With expert coaching this is a great way for kids to learn how to play cricket and gain an introduction to the club and the game.
The season includes approximately 10 sessions run on Friday nights between November and February. Participants also receive a Woolworths Blast cricket kit which can be ordered online when registering.
Junior Cricket Stage 1 (Super 7s)
7 players per team – Ages 7-9
This format is designed for children who have completed the Woolworths Blast Program and are ready for their first taste of Junior Club competition. It is designed to stimulate action, test game sense and develop skills whether batting, bowling or fielding. “Super 7s” is skills based and is not played for premiership points.
BALL: Only Kookaburra soft balls are to be used
TIME: Maximum 2 hours (120 mins) playing time i.e. Team 1 bats for 60 minutes / Team 2 bats for 60 minutes
INNINGS: Maximum 20 Overs (120 balls) or 60 minutes batting time per team
BOUNDARY: Maximum 40m diameter around the pitch (measured from the Batters stumps)
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Helmet (including the Wicket Keeper), Batting Pads, Gloves & Protector
TEAM: Seven (7) Players/Team, however the game works equally well for up to 9 Players with fielding rotations & a game can commence with 5 Players/Team
PITCH: Players play on a 16m pitch.
WHEN: This competition takes place on a Sunday morning from 8.30am – 11.30am
Junior Cricket Stage 2 (Fast 9s)
9 players per team – Ages 9-11
This format is designed for children to further develop their skills, when they are playing their 2nd/3rd year of junior cricket, with an emphasis on continuous & active participation, when all players bat, bowl & field in three hours. “Fast 9s” is skills based and is not played for premiership points.
BALL: Only Kookaburra 142 gm hard leather balls are to be used
TIME: Maximum 3 hours (180 mins) playing time i.e. Team 1 bats for 90 minutes / Team 2 bats for 90 minutes
INNINGS: Maximum 30 Overs (180 balls), 90 minutes batting time or until 8 wickets are lost per team
BOUNDARY: maximum 45m diameter around the pitch (measured from the Centre of the pitch)
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Helmet (including the Wicket Keeper), Batting Pads, Gloves & Protector
TEAM: Nine (9) Players/Team, however the game works equally well for up to 11 Players with fielding rotations and a game can commence with 7 Players/Team
PITCH: Players play on an 18m pitch, (or crease to crease 17.7 metres)
WHEN: This competition takes place on a Sunday morning from 8.30am – 11.30am
U12, U14 and U16 Competitions
After completion of Stage 2 competition players can advance to U12, U14 and U16 competitions which are played for premiership points and include finals.
The U12, U14 and U16 competitions are played on either a Friday twilight or Saturday morning depending on the availability of players and coaches.
The Friday competition is affiliated with the BHRDCA and the Saturday competitions with the RDCA and ECA.
